International year of plant health

3 December 2019

Yesterday, 2 December 2019, the international year of plant health was officially launched by FAO (food and agricuture organisation) in Rome.

One of the speakers during the opening was  Dr. Ulrich Kuhlmann, executive director for Cabi. Cabi and Koppert Biological Systems are joining forces to organise Plant Health, Agriculture & Bioscience Conference 2020 #PHAB2020, 9-11 September 2020. The leading theme will be "Plants for Life".

Allura Vision Growers supports Cabi and Koppert in designing an inspiring and different content program for this conference. The initiators are very involved in plant health, sustainable practices, diversity and knowledge for a better life. We want to inspire our audiences to review their vision on plant health with a multitude in perspectives towards plant health and new collaborations.

The basis from which we depart is a vision that humans and nature are equals in our continuous collaboration. We wil invite our audience to leave their daily practices and (pre)judices behind and share different points of view, passion, inspiration, knowledge and experiences in this field. We will not only provide a stage to plant or agricultural scientists, but are inviting people from different backgrounds.  We will make space for the perspectives of artists, farmers, cooks, philosophers, plant experts, etcetera. This event promises to be remarkable and contribute in its own way to realising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We will focus on SDG 1 (No poverty); 2 (Zero hunger); 8 (Decent work and economic growth); 12 (Sustainable consumption and production); 13 (Climate action); 15 (Life on land) and 17 (Partnerships for the goals).
